Acrylic on Canvas 40x40cm
I saw these disused farm buildings in Cheshire recently and they caught may attention. Firstly because of the rich colours, but then they brought childhood memories of playing in old farm buildings during hot summers of the 1980’s.
I wondered about the families that had been raised here, growing up and then fledging the nest like the swallows that were looking down at their territory from the high winch above.
The swallows made me smile because they reminded me of when I lived in Scotland. They were very chattery and noisy early every morning, until I would open the velux window in the roof and yell at them to be quiet! They definitely understood because they would chatter more quietly for a while!
